India National Election 2024: First Phase of Voting Commences Across 21 States and 102 Constituencies

India national election 2024The 2024 Lok Sabha election kicked off today with the first phase of voting taking place in 21 states and 102 constituencies across India. This election, spanning seven phases, will conclude on June 1, with the results announced on June 4.

In the first phase, states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal are casting their votes. Union Territories such as Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Jammu and Kashmir, and Puducherry are also participating.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA alliance is seeking a third consecutive term, with their campaign highlighting the slogan 'abki baar 400 paar'. The opposition INDIA bloc is focusing on economic promises, including Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers and cash handouts to women, as outlined in their manifesto.
